Call for papers
St. Petersburg School of Economics and Management of National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) invites you to submit proposals for mini-tracks and individual papers for the International Conference "BRICS Global Business & Innovation Conference" that will be held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation on September 14-15, 2017.

Mini Track “Establishing a research centre on the study of Labour Relations / Labour Law in BRICS member states”

BRICS as an organisation has the potential to become a major force on world markets not only with regards to Economic Development but also in the field of Management Research and International Labour Standards or Global Labour Rights. BRICS represents almost 42% of the world population, almost 20% of the world GDP and a combined labour force of more than 1,5 billion people. A stable Labour Market is one of the key factors in economic growth and cross-border investment. Collaborative research can lead to finding solutions not only for 1 member state but to the benefit all member states. Labour Relations / Labour Law and the Labour Market reflect the social structures in a country and can also play a major role in the political dispensation. If one truly understands the Labour Relations / Labour Law system and the Labour Market of a country, you will understand that country. The Labour Market is one the few places where all social partners meet.

Topics: i) Status of ILO Core Conventions in BRICS Countries; ii) Nature of Freedom of Association in BRICS countries; iii) Impact of Collective Bargaining on Labour Market in BRICS; iv) Social Security Law protections in BRICS; v) Labour Dispute Resolution processes in BRICS; vi) The right to strike in BRICS countries; vii) Minimum Basic Conditions of Employment in BRICS countries.
