LLRN Mailing List – Rules and Regulations
The LLRN mailing list serves the global community of labour law scholars, and has more than 2000 subscribers. To keep it valuable and relevant, we ask all members to adhere to the following rules:
- Moderation and Oversight
- The list is moderated, meaning all messages are reviewed before distribution.
- Subscribers can send messages directly to the list at mailing@labourlawresearch.net, but they will only be published after approval by the moderator, currently a labour law scholar from the University of Warsaw.
- What Will Be Approved
- Messages must be relevant to labour law or the labour law academic community. This connection with labour law must be direct, substantial, and clearly identifiable, so that the list remains focused on matters of genuine scholarly and professional relevance to our community.
- Messages must be in English and concern events or publications in English. Exceptions may be made (rarely) for events or publications in widely spoken languages (e.g., Spanish), particularly if they are of significant international relevance.
- New labour law books can be announced.
- Online or hybrid events (accessible internationally) are welcome.
- One reminder for a major event (e.g., conference with a call for papers) may be approved, as well as a later announcement of the full program.
- What Will Not Be Approved
- Messages clearly sent by mistake (e.g., accidental “Reply All” or off-topic replies).
- Articles and reports will not usually be accepted for circulation via the mailing list. An exception may be made for significant, multi-authored reports dealing with more than one jurisdiction and for special issues of journals
- Notices about local events with no international or online component.
- Multiple reminders for the same event.
- Messages that are unclear or need editing. In such cases, the sender will be asked to revise and re-send.
- Announcements which lack a clear, demonstrable academic dimension or a meaningful connection to labour law scholarship and practice.
- Sending Messages
Members should send their announcements directly to the list themselves (mailing@labourlawresearch.net). Moderators will not forward emails sent to them personally. - Moderator Responses
If a message is not approved for substantive reasons, the moderator will send a short personal note to the sender to explain the reasons.
In general, please understand that we need to protect the list’s usability for all 2000+ subscribers by minimizing irrelevant or excessive messages. - Community feedback
The moderation policies reflect practices developed in consultation with the LLRN Chairs and may evolve with community feedback. If you have suggestions, please feel free to reach out.
We thank you for contributing to a vibrant, inclusive, and informative network of labour law scholars. - Mailing List & Website – Transition Period
